Planet of the Alphas: The Weekend (Debbie's Lifestyles Photos June 28)

ALPHA MALES—Matt Sauers, Davie Huddleson (president), Demetrius Moyer and Brandon Hall

Memorial Day weekend has come and gone but the memories of the Alpha Weekend carry on with photos and recollection of the great weekend that the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha put together.

On May 26, the weekend kicked off with the Skee-Phi Party at the Hard Rock Café in Station Square. The Alphas, along with the Queens of pink and green, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., hosted a great evening. On May 27 the Alphas fired up the grill at Monroeville Community Park West for a day of fun and games. Sunday, May 28 saw the Alpha Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity return to Station Square to board the Empress of the Gateway Clipper Fleet for the Planet of the Alphas Memorial Weekend Boat Ride. Guests were entertained on the dock by the Brydge Band featuring Anita Levels and Dwayne Fulton. Once on board, the fun continued with Nick Nice proving he is still the “Nice One.” Nice kept the crowd on their feet and the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha stepped the night away.

The proceeds from the weekend support community programs such as the BrotherHOOD Food Bank and the Dilworth Reading Program.
