Former Perry Traditional Academy and Pitt star quarterback Rod Rutherford has been named the new head football coach at Perry, according to reports.
Rutherford helped lead the Commodores to the 1997 PIAA Class 3A Championship game, and still holds the single-season passing yards record at Pitt with 3,679 in 2003. Rutherford finished his career at Pitt with 6,724 passing yards, 60 touchdowns and a 54.4 completion percentage.
