The New Pittsburgh Courier congratulations University Prep Pittsburgh Milliones students Tenika Spencer, Amir Hutchins, and Payton Bell! They were the winners of the “LISTEN UP! Neighborhood Debate Classic 2017” held at the August Wilson Center, May 12. The event was produced by Minor Victories. Each winner received a trophy and grand prize for $150. Jermaine Johnson, founder and CEO of Minor Victories, said the event introduces teens to the power of words and ideas through intellectual sparring, and provides a vehicle for teens to express opinions and learn to use solid, compelling arguments to defend them.
