Instructor / Director of Anatomy Labs
Position available at University of Pittsburgh, Physical Therapy Dept. in Pittsburgh, PA. Teach grad/undergrad students in lab sessions for Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Physician Asst., Rehab Science & Prosthetics & Orthotics; Teach/demonstrate human gross anatomy, includng anatomical structure & function to students in anatomy courses in health & rehab fields.; Dissect &/or improve quality of prosected human cadaveric specimens to max. student learning exp. of anatomical structure, functn & relationships between structure & functn; Instruct on proper dissection techniq. & supervise dissections for learning of anatomical structure, functn & relationships existing between structure & function; Plan & coord. gross human anatomy dissection &/or prosection lab exp for anatomy courses; Instruct students in proper safety technqes when handling human cadaveric specimens, preserve cadaveric specimens for future study, & maintain cleanliness of lab; Prepare & admin. tests; Perform other academic duties as req’d. Reqs.: Masters degree or foreign equiv. degree in Physical Therapy or related field; Knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurovascular & internal organ anatomy; Demonstrated ability in human dissection & teaching. Among other administrative duties, a successful candidate will provide oversight and management of the Urban Academy admissions, enrollment and lottery systems and procedures.
