Gospel singer Geoffrey Golden and his ensemble raised the praise and showed Pittsburgh how the millennials celebrate the most Holy weekend of Christians at the Good Friday Concert, held April 19 at the Macedonia Church of Pittsburgh, 2225 Bedford Ave.
Golden, the popular 2014 “Sunday Best” winner and Cleveland native, approached the stage in an intense worship moment that had already been initiated by the church’s local singers and motivated the standing-room-only crowd into a crescendo of animated singing, twirling and chanting to his mostly contemporary lyrics.
Golden’s renowned rendition of the song, “Glory to the Lamb,” reduced many to tears as they reflected on the finished work of Christ on the Cross. The free event was hosted by Macedonia Church of Pittsburgh Pastor Brian Edmonds, and First Lady, Rev. Dionne J. Edmonds.
