SUPPORTING CITY PARKS—Richard Reed, Sylvia Fields, Fred Fields, Barbara Howard and Chris Howard

On May 4, the 2019 PNC Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Spring Hat Luncheon was held in Allegheny Commons Park. This was the first Spring Hat Luncheon held in Allegheny Commons Park. The park was built in 1867 by what was then called the City of Allegheny; the North Side’s 80-acre park is Pittsburgh’s oldest park. The fountain in the park was recently restored and reopened.
The proceeds from the annual hat luncheon supports the parks in the region. The 21st luncheon was the first to be held in a community park. Over 600 guests in fabulous hats enjoyed a beautiful day in the park with a lunch exquisitely catered by the Duquesne Club. Not only did the PNC Pittsburgh Conservancy have a new location long time emcee in Sally Wiggin (WTAE), but Lisa Sylvester (WPXI) emceed her first hat luncheon. She donned a beautiful fuchsia hat for the occasion.
Jayne Miller, President and CEO of Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, thanked the large crowd for supporting this important organization for the last 21 years. The luncheon raised more than $500,000 to benefit the city’s most valuable green spaces. Save the date: May 2, 2020, the 22nd Annual PNC Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Spring Hat Luncheon will be held at Frick Park.
