Courier wins 3 awards at 2019 NNPA Merit Awards Reception

COURIER EDITOR AND PUBLISHER ROD DOSS, REAL TIMES MEDIA CEO/MICHIGAN CHRONICLE PUBLISHER HIRAM E. JACKSON

The New Pittsburgh Courier took home three awards, including first-place honors for best Circulation Promotion, at the annual National Newspaper Publishers Association Merit Awards Reception, which recognizes the best in the Black Press in America. The Courier also won second place in the country for Best News Pictures, and third place for Best Layout and Design. In the photo at right, Mr. Doss is pictured with Hiram E. Jackson, CEO of Real Times Media, the Courier’s parent company. Jackson also is publisher of the Michigan Chronicle, in Detroit. The Chronicle won four awards at the 2019 NNPA Merit Awards, held June 27, in Cincinnati.
