“A Fabulous Seventy” were the resounding words echoed by the family and friends of Pastor Eileen O. Smith who recently attended her 3 Score and 10 Birthday Celebration at Antonelli’s Event Center in North Huntington. The event, held June 8, was initiated by the members of Mount Zion Baptist Church of West Newton where Rev. Smith has been the pastor for more than 15 years. Reverend Smith, a retired nurse, is known in the West Newton community and beyond for implementing food distribution programs and sharing her ministry expertise with families in domestic and violence crisis as well as offering compassion as a Hospice Chaplain. Reverend Raymond Porter Jr., son in law of Pastor Smith, was Facilitator and Associate Minister. Pamela Tarpley was Chair Lady of the celebration.
