POLICE OFFICER
BOROUGH OF BELLEVUE
The Civil Service Commission of the Borough of Bellevue will offer competitive written and oral examinations for a certified list of applicants for the position of police officer. Applications for the position may be obtained at the Bellevue Borough Building located at 537 Bayne Avenue, Bellevue, Pennsylvania 15202 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Completed applications will be accepted by the Administrative Office at the Bellevue Borough Building beginning on Monday, September 16, 2019 and must be returned no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2019. Assistant Manager of Special Services / Events and Detours
Port Authority is seeking an Assistant Manager of Special Services / Events and Detours to provide assistance and support to the Manager of Special Services / Events and Detours while working with the Operations Department in the execution of daily operating activities. To develop, communicate and implement bus and rail detours for planned construction projects, emergency closures and as needed, special events and services.
Essential Functions:
•Provides assistance to the Manager of Special Services / Events and Detours. Communicates with the Operations Command Center and their efforts to maintain and adjust service, improve on time performance and provide necessary detours to Operations and Communications Departments, including during major special events, service disruptions, natural or man-made emergencies, from the office or in the field.
•In conjunction with the Manager of Special Services / Events and Detours, maintain and support existing and new computerized detours along with stop notification systems (CIS).
•Work with Road Operations Supervisors & Traffic Dispatchers to convert repetitive detours through acquisition of further information into formal notices for staff and public use; report to Manager of Special Services / Events and Detours so that contractors and special event organizers can be identified, contacted and corrected.
Job requirements include:
•High School Diploma or GED.
•Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Bus or Light Rail Vehicle Operator; or two (2) years experience in one of the following positions within Bus or Road Operations: Bus Route Foreman; Bus Instructor; Traffic Dispatcher.
* Willingness and ability to respond to 24-hour emergency calls.
* Effective and professional communication (especially excellent writing) skills.
* Thorough knowledge of Port Authority service area.
* Thorough knowledge of Southwestern Pennsylvania highway, road and street networks.
* Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows.
* Customer focused.
* Valid Commercial Driver’s Class B License with a “P” passenger endorsement.
* This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to all testing provisions under the Drug and Alcohol Policy, including random drug and alcohol testing. The person selected for this position may be required to be tested prior to being awarded the job.
Preferred attributes:
•Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
•Supervisory experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
•Must pass a Physical Agility Test to be held in Altoona on Saturday, October 26, 2019 and Sunday, October 27, 2019.
•Must pass a Written Civil Service Test to be held in Altoona on Saturday, November 2, 2019, with a score of 70% or better.
•Must be a United States citizen.
•Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
•Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
• Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent.
•Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the essential duties of a firefighter as determined by successfully completing the physical agility test and physical examination.
•Must become a resident of the City of Altoona within six (6) months of date of employment and must remain a resident of the City during the tenure of employment.
