One of the best end-of-summer parties was a three day event. The Iota Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. presented The Pittsburgh Ques Boatride Weekend during Labor Day weekend.

The party kicked off on Aug. 30 at BJ’s Event Center and Young Bros Bar, 1439 Woods Run Ave. On Saturday, Aug. 31, the crowd made their way to a stone soul picnic and Omega Community BBQ in Monroeville Community Park. The party continued Saturday Night as the Ques hosted the Omega All-White Party at the Ace Hotel in East Liberty. Hundreds of guests enjoyed DJ Pop Rek from Washington, D.C. on the first floor and Teresa Hawthorne and Legacee Live Band on the second floor. It all wrapped up on Sunday, Sept. 1, with a Pre-Boarding Party at Rivers Casino in the Drum Bar. Then it was time for the main event, the Pittsburgh Omega Boat Ride on the Gateway Clipper Fleet Featuring DJ Nick Nice and live jazz on the top deck of the boat.

The famous weekend serves as a major fundraiser for their social action programs that include: HBCU Tour, Carter G. Woodson Academy, Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway, Christmas Toy Give-a-away, etc.
