Jennifer Hawkins named to sports technology advisory board

The New Pittsburgh Courier has learned that SportsPITTSBURGH’s Executive Director, Jennifer Hawkins, has been named to the advisory board of the EventConnect™ Sportology Conference. EventConnect™ is the leading cloud-based event and tournament management system for the sports tourism industry. The Sportology Conference focuses on issues related to sports technology.

“It’s an exciting time to be involved with an event like Sportology,” Hawkins said in a statement. “Serving on the advisory committee provides a fantastic opportunity to learn how top event organizers improve upon customer experiences and event execution. Along with providing insight from the innovative organizations in our area, I can benchmark SportsPITTSBURGH’s best practices against some of the most creative minds in the event tech industry.”

Hawkins has witnessed exponential growth in the sports-event and tourism industry in the Pittsburgh region and nationally. Hawkins has been instrumental in the entire process of bidding on, planning and executing numerous, high-profile sports events. Most recently, she served as co-Tournament Director of the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Championships.

A member of Women in Sports and Events and the National Association of Sports Commissions, Hawkins is a board member of P3R/Pittsburgh Marathon and Connect Sports’ Executive Advisory Committee.
