Employee Relations / OEO Coordinator
Port Authority is seeking a Employee Relations /OEO Coordinator to perform a broad range of duties for Employee Relations and OEO. Research and prepare information for Contract Negotiations. Develop and maintain departmental databases. Generate reports, analyze, interpret Labor Relations data and provide recommendations. Administer and support processing of Unemployment Compensation Claims and Reasonable Accommodation requests.
Essential Functions:
•Utilizes PeopleSoft HRMS to perform the following:
•Prepare, update and maintain department reports.
•Maintain discipline and grievance records, as needed.
•Enter payroll information, as needed
•Prepares quarterly and annual statistical reports of types and frequency of actions taken concerning grievance, discipline, arbitration, and related labor relations activities in order to identify problem areas.
•Receives internal OEO complaints and transcribes information received. Tracks Operation Division response to Title VI complaints and initiates closure of such complaints. Assists OEO staff in preparing for fact-finding conferences, as needed. Maintains confidential records and files on all complaints from Federal, State, and local authorities along with internal complaints submitted to the OEO Department. As needed, drives to locations to collect and/or return material needed for investigations and follows-up with management.
Job requirements include:
•BA/BS in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Labor Relations or directly related field from an accredited school. (Experience in the areas of workers’ compensation, employee relations, or benefits administration can be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.)
•Proficient in the use of Windows, and Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
•Professional and effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Ability to work independently and make decisions.
•Strong organization skills.
Preferred attributes:

Benefit and Retirement Analyst
Port Authority is seeking a Benefit and Retirement Analyst to assist in the coordination and administration of Port Authority’s employee benefit and retiree programs, including group life and health insurance, pension and deferred compensation plans, and other related benefit and retirement programs. Develop benefit and retirement workflow analysis for the budget. Collaborate with PeopleSoft HRIS specialist to ensure that benefit and retirement information is accurate. Create detailed historical documentation of retirement and benefit changes as a result of contract modifications.
Essential Functions:
•Updates and maintains premium rate sheets for all healthcare programs. Manages the workflow analysis of monthly premiums paid to vendors to ensure accuracy.
•Reconciles service provider, BNY Mellon, transaction detail and payment compare reports to ensure that information is equivalent with the Retirement Plan Committee Minutes for both union and non-union pension plans. Will be the main liaison to rectify reporting issues with vendor.
•Prepare financial analysis, healthcare budget, retirement/benefit contribution surveys, and reports for senior management and external agencies.
•Responsible for updating the retirement pension mass update file for the deduction of retiree healthcare premiums. Assists department in answering retirement and benefit questions for employees and retirees.
•Prepares GASB45, OPEB, and various other auditing reports that may be requested by Port Authority’s actuary.
Job requirements include:
•BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Finance, or directly related field from an accredited school.
•Minimum of three (3) years of professional level experience in defined benefit, defined contribution and budget experience.
•Knowledge and understanding of state and federal retirement and benefit laws and regulations.
•Demonstrated ability in the use of Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and PeopleSoft HRIS
•Professional and effective communication skills.
Preferred attributes:

Essential Functions:

•Prepares, coordinates and administers the annual maintenance system pick and quarterly pick. Conducts pick, verifies education and experience, and determines if employee is qualified for the position. Awards maintenance jobs based on qualifications and seniority. Coordinates with managers, assistant managers, or supervisor of maintenance employee(s) who are to be drug tested due to safety sensitive position awarded. Updates and maintains maintenance database records and prepares various reports. Distributes the final award reports to Benefits and Compensation Services and Accounting to update PeopleSoft and to all maintenance locations. Conducts classroom instruction and practical applications training to newly hired maintenance employees; demonstrates proper procedures for bidding, bumping and picking jobs within the maintenance section
Job requirements include:
•High School Diploma or GED.
•BS/BA degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related field from an accredited school. Related experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
•Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources interviewing, recruitment, and employment process and familiarity with union contractual matters.
•Knowledge and understanding of Employment/EEO laws and regulations.
•Effective and professional communication and organizational skills.
•Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows and Microsoft Word.
Preferred attributes:
•Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification from the Society for Human Resources Management.
