According to the men of EMANON (“no name” spelled backwards) “Ain’t no party like an EMANON party because an EMANON party don’t stop.”
On Dec. 8, 2019, at the Comfort Inn, Rodi Road the party was warm, welcoming and as always, fun. The night started with their infamous icebreaker where guests try to complete a list of questions by finding people who can supply the answer. Some guests tried to shy away from it but got pulled into the fun, the chance to win prizes and meet new people. Guests enjoyed dining, dancing to the Flo Wilson Band and the merriment that centers on the holiday season.
The men of EMANON have been hosting holiday soirees since the late 1950s when the group rose to prominence with their annual New Year’s Eve Cabaret at the Royal Ballroom in Wilkinsburg. Reportedly it was the place to be on New Year’s Eve.
The current roster of EMANON includes: Michael Beasley, Clarence Curry, Ronald Curry, Les Daniel, Dr. Larry Davis, Paul Dorsey (president), Robert Nicklos, Capt. Samuel Pinkney, Dan Robinson, Dr. Robert Smith, Joe Thomas and Dr. Theodore Towns. Alan Cousar, Christopher Hardy, Larry Harper and Steven Leonard are associate members.
