Assistant Manager – Passenger Amenities & Contract Services
Port Authority is seeking a Assistant Manager – Passenger Amenities & Contract Services to assist with managing the planning and development of passenger amenities and service stops. Conducts inspections to ensure that all equipment, inventory and facilities are maintained. Responsible for shelter and park & ride program and implementation of design standards for same. Assists Port Authority’s ACCESS paratransit contract manager. Assists with maintaining ACCESS related private carrier files. Supervises the Transit Stop and Clever Devices Specialists, Timetable Courier. Assists with managing Port Authority’s Bus Stop Consolidation and Shelter Replacement programs. Participates in procurement procedures as needed.
Essential Functions:
•Directs and supervises Transit Stops and Clever Devices Specialists, Timetable Courier, and other staff as assigned. Provides direction on Goals and Objectives and meets regularly with staff to deliver feedback on achievement of goals.
•Responsible for planning and development of passenger amenities and conducts inspections to ensure that all equipment, inventory, and facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and functional operating condition. Reviews, recommends and implements decisions pertaining to bus stops and other passenger facilities spacing and placement upon finalization of service changes. Works with engineers, contractors, and Port Authority staff to design and implement changes. Also assists Road Operations Supervisors and Traffic Dispatchers in planning and implementing bus stop changes, and detours.
* Assists with Port Authority’s ACCESS (paratransit provider) contract manager, including contract oversight and customer complaint issues. Maintains records to monitor ACCESS payroll budgets, reports discrepancies and status of budget limits. Review monthly invoices for approval. Maintains and establishes ACCESS related private carrier permit files, tracks monthly reports, ridership, insurance requirements, etc. Responsible for tracking permit validity and yearly fee submittal.
Job requirements include:
•High School diploma or GED.
•BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Planning or directly related field from an accredited school. Directly related experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
•Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in scheduling, service planning, customer service or related field.
•Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows and Microsoft Word and Excel.
•Customer focused, well organized, and results oriented.
•Professional and effective communication skills.
•Valid PA driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
Preferred attributes:
•Knowledge of Port Authority transit system and Allegheny County.
•Supervisory experience.
•Project Management experience.

The APOST Manager of Partnerships and Quality Improvement will continue to build an out-of-school time network through promoting the need for high quality programs and building neighborhood-based collaborations. Specifically, this individual will oversee the day-to-day project management of the Quality Improvement Initiative (which includes the APOST Quality Campaign and Professional Development Plan) and the neighborhood coalition-building efforts (One Northside Youth eXcel and Hill Youth Partnership for Enrichment).
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required in social work, education or a related field. Master’s level degree preferred but not required. Three plus years of experience in afterschool, youth development or related field. Two years of experience managing others. Track record of success in leading collaborations and partnerships, experience facilitating training and technical assistance to youth practitioners is preferred.

Engineering Intern
Port Authority is seeking an Engineering Intern to provide engineering and project management support to Engineers, Architects and other staff members as directed by Supervisor for capital projects related to maintenance, modification, repair and/ or reconstruction of Authority structures, bridges, tunnels, subways, roadways, busways, facilities, passenger stations and light rail transit system.
Essential Functions:
•Assist the Engineering Department in providing engineering support to resolve technical problems and methods regarding building codes, structural codes, permit procedures, and municipal construction requirements as apply to ongoing maintenance, facility modification, repair and/or reconstruction. Assists in obtaining permits, as needed.
•Performs field inspections including monitoring and coordination of contractors and consultants, and maintains accurate records pertaining to design and construction progress, schedules, costs, quality control, work activities, conditions and as-built documents.
Job requirements include:
•A college degree or be enrolled in a college degree program in Engineering. Current enrollment in a graduate degree program in engineering or a related field.
•Ability in the use of Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.
•Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to prioritize multiple work objectives and schedules.
Preferred attributes:
•Experience in the use of computers for the purposes of developing and reviewing technical documents.
