Allegheny County reports six new COVID-19 deaths, 13 new cases

Pennsylvania reported 47 new COVID-19-related deaths and another 885 COVID-19 cases Monday, bringing the totals to 1,597 deaths and 42,050 cases.

Across 441 facilities in 40 counties, residents and employees of nursing and personal care homes represent 7,899 of the total COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania.

Most of the deaths and hospitalizations across the state were people 65 or older.

Allegheny County reported six new COVID-19 deaths on Monday, bringing the county total to 79. Another 13 COVID-19 cases were also confirmed, bringing the county total to 1,224. Of the total cases in the county, 169 are healthcare workers. The number of past and present hospitalizations remains at 213.

People 50 and older represent 57% of cases, and less than 3% of cases are from individuals younger than 19. Those who have died in the county are people ages 42 to 103, with the median age of 84.

In Allegheny County, white people represent 55% of all cases; Black people represent 17%; Asian people represent 1% and the races of the remaining cases are unknown.

In Pennsylvania, 161,372 individuals have tested negative for COVID-19. In Allegheny County, 14,765 have tested negative. This means less than 2% of both the state and county populations have been tested.
