PTC commemorates National Nurses Week: Empowering nurses with education

Dr. Alicia Harvey-Smith, president of Pittsburgh Technical College.

For all of us at Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC), National Nurses Week this year holds special significance as we commemorate the selfless passion and talent of nurses in our region and across the country. We remain resolute in our support for PTC’s nursing graduates on the frontlines of healthcare as we prepare our new students to enter the profession, trained and ready to offer the kind of care that not only saves the lives of patients but comforts their families, too.

The faculty of PTC’s School of Nursing is dedicated to the empowerment of students by teaching a science-based, career-focused curriculum that helps every student realize their full professional and personal potential.

Nursing is a dynamic, evolving field so our students learn health care concepts and skills that help them prepare for a lifetime of learning and success by emphasizing concepts in therapeutic communication, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, social responsibility, and infusing a spirit of inquiry.

Our nursing programs encompass an Associate in Science degree in Nursing that also contains an advanced standing track for current LPNs to pursue higher learning, and a certificate program in Practical Nursing.

If you are interested in pursuing a nursing career, we look forward to talking with you. Visit PTCollege.edu to learn more about our nursing programs and to schedule a call with an admissions counselor.
