Breaking news: Alexis Johnson, Post-Gazette reporter who was banned from covering George Floyd protests, speaks out (VIDEO)

The New Pittsburgh Courier was there today, Monday, June 8, in front of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette offices, as PG reporter Alexis Johnson broke her silence after being banned from covering George Floyd protests for the paper. 

PG management told Johnson she was banned due to a tweet she made on her personal account on May 31. She was banned on June 1. PG management said “bias” was shown in the tweet that she made. 

In the video below, Johnson says, among other things, “I felt like my voice was being silenced.”
