Allegheny County reports 200 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths

Sunday marks the 13th consecutive day of triple-digit increases in the county.

Allegheny County reported 200 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, July 12, bringing the total number of reported cases to 4,962.

The newest cases are among patients ranging in age from 2 months to 95 years old with the median age being 35. Positive results are from tests from June 26 to July 11.

There were eight new hospitalizations, bringing the total of past and present hospitalizations to 464, and no new deaths reported, leaving the total at 198 deaths (186 confirmed and 12 probable).

Pennsylvania reported 568 new cases and seven new deaths Sunday, bringing the statewide case count to 95,266 reported cases (92,552 confirmed and 2,714 probable) with 6,904 deaths reported.

Roughly one in four of the reported cases in the state have been in personal care and nursing homes, and deaths in those cases account for approximately two-thirds of all of the state’s COVID-related fatalities. Nursing homes and personal care facilities in 57 counties, including Allegheny, reported 21,729 total infections within 748 facilities. The facilities have seen 4,703 deaths.
