Allegheny County reports 119 new COVID-19 cases, 7 new deaths

The Allegheny County Department of Health [ACHD] reported 119 COVID-19 infections Tuesday, bringing the total case count since March 14 to 7,593 cases.

The new cases span from July 10 through July 27 from 1,804 tests. The newly reported fatalities occurred between July 23 through July 26 with the ages of the deceased being between 75 and 95 years of age and appear to be associated with long-term care facilities.

ACHD also reported 20 additional hospitalizations and seven new deaths. To date, there have been 603 deaths and 229 past and present hospitalizations.

Patient ages for the new infections range from 10 months to 97, with a median age of 50 years.

ounty data shows 56.1% of the new cases are among those younger than 50.

Still, personal care and nursing homes continue to bear the brunt of the deaths, with residents representing 68.1% of all COVID-related fatalities in the state.

Roughly 7,974, or 7.3 % of all infections, are among healthcare workers.
