Allegheny County reports 82 new COVID-19 cases, 4 new hospitalizations and 2 new deaths

Allegheny County reported 82 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, Aug. 2, bringing the county total to 8,242 reported cases, with four new hospitalizations and two new deaths reported.

The total of past and present hospitalizations is now 685, which is a jump of more than 100 in the past week. The death count in Allegheny County is now 242 reported deaths.

The newest reported COVID-19 cases are among patients ranging in age from 3 weeks to 94 years old with the median age being 45. Positive results are from tests from July 13 to Aug. 1.

The most recent reported fatalities were an individual in their 80s and an individual in their 90s. The death dates were July 25 and July 26.

Pennsylvania reported 654 new cases and five new deaths Sunday, bringing the statewide case count to 113,590 with 7,209 deaths reported.
