Director of Internal Audit
Port Authority is seeking a Director of Internal Audit to be responsible for managing the administration of all functions of Port Authority’s Internal Audit Department, including preparation, implementation, oversight and completion of Board-adopted Internal Audit Risk-Based Work Plans and supervising Internal Audit personnel.
•Develops, maintains and oversees timely completion of Board-adopted Internal Audit Risk-Based Work Plans, which typically are adopted at 18-month intervals and include audits in process, required audits/projects, audits based upon risk assessment/management request and other-directed audit activities and special projects/assignments.
•Recommends improvement of management controls to safeguard Authority assets/resources, advise in the effective and efficient use of same, promote Authority success, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Authorizes the presentation, publication and distribution of completed audit reports in consultation with the Chief Legal Officer.
Job requirements include:
•BA/Bs degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or directly related field.
•Minimum of eight (8) years Internal Auditing experience with a large to mid-sized private or government internal audit department, with experience to include performing performance auditing.
•Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience.
•Must have ability to travel to various Port Authority locations and out of town overnight for some audits and/or to serve on UCP Appeals Committee.
•Effective and professional communication skills,
•Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.
•Masters degree in a financial related field.
•Experience with a private or public transportation external or internal audit functions.
•Experience utilizing auditing software.
