Pittsburgh Technical College: Where Knowledge Meets Know-How

Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC) delivers a career-focused education grounded in academic excellence; complete with honesty, inclusivity, compassion, and support for our diverse student body. PTC ensures that learners achieve success and value for their education dollars. It’s our mission to fully prepare graduates for careers that fuel economic growth in our region and beyond.

We began almost 75 years ago as PTI, and now, as PTC, we offer more than 30 programs of study, and consistently deliver high in-field placement rates of over 95%. Plus 100% of our degree-seeking students participate in internships, clinical rotations, or employer-partnered capstone projects before they graduate.

PTC students experience applied learning from their first quarter. Whether working toward a certificate, associate or bachelor’s degree, they don’t have to wait to take apart a computer, work with a patient, or enter a lab to practice the skills that are relevant to their field.

Due to COVID-19, many programs are now virtual, with some face-to-face classes when hands-on instruction is essential for education competencies. Fully online program options are also available providing flexibility. PTC’s average class size is 16 students, making our education personal and tailored to each individual learning style.

Students can live on or off campus in school-sponsored housing. Our campus is a short drive from downtown Pittsburgh yet feels worlds away with lush green spaces in which to live and learn.
