1 Nation Mentoring is an organization in Pittsburgh that empowers positive behavior, promotes healthy life decisions and cultivates leadership qualities in Black youth ages 12-24.
Kevin McNair, Lloyd Cheatom and Sam Morant began the organization a few years after they served as Heinz Fellows in Pittsburgh Public Schools in 2013 and felt that some students’ needs weren’t being met.
On Dec. 12 and Dec. 13, they surprised some Pittsburgh families by paying off their layway balances at Walmart in North Versailles.
It was the true meaning of paying it forward.
