Announcement
Falk School, a coeducational K-8 school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is currently seeking full-time teachers for the next academic year beginning Fall 2021.
Elementary Teacher (Kindergarten)
Candidates should have successful teaching experience in a kindergarten or an elementary classroom setting and experience in unit planning in all relevant content areas. Candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to children’s differences and needs while also understanding the importance of developing strong working relationships with families. Candidates must exhibit an authentic passion and enthusiasm for progressive education, and understand and appreciate the value of inquiry and exploration. They must be self-motivated, life-long learners who are willing to work in an intellectually demanding setting with high-expectations. The position involves working in close collaboration with colleagues in kindergartens with a co-teaching model, so strong communication skills with an openness to ideas and perspectives are essential.
A Master’s Degree and a degree in elementary education or equivalent coursework are required. Broad experience is advantageous, as partnering across disciplines and grade levels is valued at our school. Highly creative work experience in the field of elementary education is an asset.

Candidates must have empathy for, and a genuine interest in, developing positive educational experiences for students with learning differences. Salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience. Falk Laboratory School, which is affiliated with the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, offers excellent benefits.
A Master of Education Degree in the field of special education or a related field is required. Broad experience in a school setting is advantageous as the position involves partnering across disciplines and grade levels.
