The Allegheny County Health Department on Monday confirmed 402 new COVID-19 cases and one new death from the virus in the past 48 hours.

The new cases — from positive tests dated Dec. 14 to Jan. 31  — include individuals ranging in age from 2 months to 99 years old, with a median age of 42.

The person who died was described as over 100 years old. The death, on Jan. 10, was associated with a long-term care facility.

To date, Allegheny County Health Department has reported 69,537 cases, 1,454 deaths from the virus and 4,300 past and present hospitalizations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed 6,839 new COVID-19 cases and 85 new deaths in the past 48 hours on Monday. Since the start of the pandemic, Pennsylvania has reported 846,078 cases and 21,687 deaths.

Nursing and personal care home residents and employees represent about 9 % of the state’s cases and approximately 52% of the state’s deaths. Healthcare workers represent about 2.7% of the state’s cases.

Through Jan. 31, at least 1,008,025 vaccine doses have been administered in Pennsylvania. There are 615,085 people who have received one dose of the vaccine and 196,470 people who have received both doses of the vaccine.

“I know there is a lot of frustration out there,” ACHD Director Dr. Debra Bogen said during a press briefing Wednesday. “Our clinics are filling up fast, the registration system from the state is confusing, and sometimes it doesn’t work. You’re wondering when you can get a vaccine and how you’ll get a vaccine. I really do hear you. We all hear you. We are frustrated here, too.”
