Local experts discuss COVID-19 vaccines, distribution issues and more during Courier’s virtual COVID Vaccine forum

Last week, local experts participated in the New Pittsburgh Courier’s informational COVID Vaccine Forum, which was sponsored by AARP Pennsylvania, to discuss topics that included the current approved COVID-19 vaccines, issues with distribution for Blacks, resources for getting a vaccine and more.

Forum participants were Angela Foreshaw-Rouse, Manager of State Operations & Community Outreach for AARP Pennsylvania; Dr. Tracey Conti, Program Director of the UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Department and Vice Chair and Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine; Dr. Margaret Larkins-Pettigrew, Chief Clinical Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for Allegheny Health Network; and Dr. Anita Edwards, Medical Director and Chairman of the Health Equity Committee for Gateway Health Plan.

The hour-long event was moderated by WPXI news reporter Michele Newell.
