African Americans in Allegheny County still abominably underrepresented in obtaining COVID-19 vaccine

TERRI AVANT, of Braddock, and Jerome Anderson, of Pitcairn, received the COVID-19 vaccine during a one-day event held at Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship, Saturday, April 10. The event was sponsored by the Pa. State NAACP.

Data obtained by Courier shows that as of April 9, 2021, just 13,371 people identifying as Black have received full vaccine in Allegheny County according to data from the Pa. Department of Health’s website.
