Instant Inspiration with Rev. A. Marie Walker

“Come to Me (Jesus), all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I (Jesus) will give you rest. Place my yoke over your shoulders, and learn from me, because I (Jesus) am gentle and humble. Then you will find rest for yourselves because my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
– Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV

REV. WALKER SAYS: The verb COME is to move towards something, or come to someone. Jesus is asking us to come and learn of Him. What is a YOKE, referring to two oxen with a yoke around their necks pulling and plowing a field together. Jesus is yoked with us while we go through this life together. Whatever we are carrying, pushing or pulling, Jesus is yoked with us.”
