JIM PHILLIPS AND MARY CAREY, standing next to the newly-erected sign honoring Clara E. Davis, at Braddock Community Day 2021, held Aug. 13. Davis, who passed away at age 75 last year, was an immovable force in the betterment of Braddock. “She helped everybody; was very involved in the community. A lifelong resident, just a nice woman,” Phillips said. Carey added that Davis played a major role in the planning of the Braddock Civic Plaza, where the Community Day was held.
