The New Pittsburgh Courier has learned that Dynegy, and its parent company, Vistra, recently announced a $25,000 donation to the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, achieving status as an Urban League corporate ally. The donation will directly fund the Urban League’s Black Female Leadership Development Institute and Center for Economic Self Reliance.

The Urban League’s Black Female Leadership Institute encourages African American young women to embrace leadership roles in their communities and practice self-care needed to maintain a satisfying life.

The Center for Economic Reliance is a service hub designed to foster individual career progression and improve educational outcomes.

This is Dynegy’s second donation to the Urban League. In October 2020, the company donated $50,000 toward the two programs as part of Vistra’s $10 million commitment to support organizations working for social justice and equity.
