McCollum honored for almost half century of service to city

CONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER FOR WILLIAM MCCOLLUM, who was given a proclamation by Pittsburgh City Council last month after almost 50 years of service with
the city.

He was hired as a laborer on March 20, 1972, in the Department of Public Works. McCollum was then promoted to truck driver in October 1979, transferred to the
asphalt division in January 1980, and transferred to the 2nd division in 2004 where he stayed until his retirement on Sept. 13, 2021. The total years of service? 49 years, 5 months. (Photos by Courier photographer J.L. Martello)
