The New Pittsburgh Courier is seeking a highly motivated individual with a sense of urgency in developing engaging general news and feature content to be our City Editor. The successful candidate must be an engaging storyteller with strong reporting, writing, and editing skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced production and marketing environment while maintaining high ethical standards and meeting deadlines. Our ideal candidate should also be able to produce quality photographs to supplement their stories and have graphic layout skills.

Duties will include: working with editorial leadership to determine priorities for daily news coverage and reporting geared towards the Black community for both digital and print publication; and daily collaboration across a close-knit team, assisting leadership in the planning and managing of day-to-day operations, proofreading and editing copy for compliance with policies, style, and tone; and attending events, panels and speaking engagements on behalf of the publication.

o In conjunction with Budget and Project Analyst, coordination of budget management, invoicing,

o Identify gaps between delivered software and agency’s needs.

Propose solutions and work with both internal agency areas and external vendor to implement solutions.

o Serve as liaison to, and manage various reports for, Regional Transit Agency coordination regarding shared technology systems, notably AFCS.

o Ensure training and support services are available for fare management services. .

o Development of implementation, communications, and test plans – including oversight of quality assurance, user acceptance testing of system changes.

o Oversees the interface/integration among various ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) computer programs and systems; assists with training on ITS products.
