Hope Chapel celebrates Pittsburgh African Americans

Must read

HOPE CHAPEL, located at 1028 Chartiers Ave., presented its Black History Month program last month, at the church. The awards are in memoriam of Officer Eric Kelly, an African American who was shot while responding to a domestic call in Stanton Heights in 2009. He was off-duty at the time, but heroically responded to the call. Above are Luther and Roxanne Sewell, second and third from left, respectively, who received awards. Shown at far left is Sister Audrey Brown, and at far right, it’s Sister Elaine Johnson. (Photos by Courier photographer J.L. Martello)
