At one point, Mojoyinade Abolarin had a hard time finding shoes her size.
“I wanted cute shoes, so I started designing shoes for myself and then for family friends,” said Abolarin. “I did my research and realized it was more economical to produce in larger quantities, and so that’s how I went full time into this.”
Her background was not in footwear at all. Abolarin worked in biomedical science and IT. However, her love for shoes led her to launch JoJo Shoes. Designed with all types of women in mind, JoJo Shoes are incredibly stylish without having to sacrifice comfort. With a dazzling mix of foot-friendly designs in real leathers, including sheepskin, pony hair leather, python leather, and all the types of wearable material, JoJo Shoes offer styles that are perfect for completing any look and available in great fittings.
“Seeing my designs on paper come to life and how people enjoy telling me how comfortable my shoes are brings a smile to my face,” said Abolarin.
All of her designs are unique, and she specializes in custom orders.
“I make a limited quality of every design. One thing I never do is bring back old designs. I don’t repeat designs, and that gives someone a unique buying experience…Sometimes you go to a wedding and see people wear the same clothes accidentally, but with JoJo Shoes you get that unique thing that’s not all over the world.”
JoJo Shoes are intended to empower women. No matter their background or circumstances, Abolarin wants clients to feel supported.
“I design for every kind of woman to bring out their confidence. When you have confidence, I feel it makes you more powerful. There’s nothing you can’t achieve with confidence. I feel that once people put on my shoes, they exude that confidence. I design shoes for confident, beautiful, powerful women.”
