Common and Jennifer Hudson are seemingly confirming rumors that they’re dating.
In a preview for Monday’s (January 22) episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, the host and rapper appeared to tease their relationship.
Common presented Hudson with a bouquet of flowers as he came out for his segment on the talk show.
“Now, we gotta get down to business, Mr. Common. I’m a host and so I have to ask you this question ’cause everybody always wanna know this — are you dating anyone?” Hudson asked.
Common laughed before hinting at his relationship with Hudson.
“I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life,” he said. “She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she’s talented.”
Common jokingly said he set high standards for his partner and wanted her to be an EGOT winner, which Hudson accomplished in 2022 after winning a Tony for A Strange Loop.
When asked if he was happy in his relationship, Common said: “This relationship is a happy place for me. Seeing her happy actually makes me really happy. So, I’m very grateful. I thank God each and every day, and I’m just letting God guide this relationship.”
The pair first sparked romance rumors in 2022 after they were spotted together in Chicago. However, Common and Hudson, who star together in the upcoming film Breathe, have previously declined to confirm speculation surrounding their relationship.
“People create their narratives of it and it’s like, OK, you know, how you feel,” Hudson previously said of her relationship with Common. “We shot a film together, and [Common] played my husband. We gotta eat in between those moments.”
