City offices and Citiparks facilities closed; refuse collection postponed for Memorial Day

Pittsburgh, PA – City of Pittsburgh Offices and CitiParks Facilities will be closed and refuse collections will be postponed on Monday, May 27th in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. 

The Department of Public Works advises that refuse and recycling collection will be delayed one day.  

Neighborhoods that have a scheduled collection on Monday, will be serviced on Tuesday, May 28. Those usually serviced on Tuesday will be serviced on Wednesday; and so on throughout the week with Friday service taking place on Saturday, June 1.  

Residents are encouraged to place their refuse out for collection after 6pm the night before their collection day as usual.

CitiParks Facilities with adjusted schedules are as follows: 

HEALTHY ACTIVE LIVING CENTERS (Senior Centers) 

  • CLOSED — Monday, May 27, 2024 

RECREATION CENTERS 

  • CLOSED — Saturday, May 25 to Monday, May 27, 2024 

MELLON PARK TENNIS CENTER 

  • OPEN — Sunday, May 26, 2024
  • CLOSED — Monday, May 27, 2024 

FARMERS MARKETS 

  • The Squirrel Hill Market is OPEN Sunday, May 26, 2024—9 AM to 1 PM 

CitiParks Spray Parks OPEN Saturday, May 25th with operation hours of 10 AM to 8 PM daily. Additional Spray Park details can be found here: https://pittsburghpa.gov/citiparks/spray-park
