Bethel AME Church, 2720 Webster Ave., Hill District, has informed the New Pittsburgh Courier that it will host its Juneteenth Worship on Sunday, June 22. Morning worship will be held at 11 a.m., featuring guest preacher, Bishop Kurt Kusserow, of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod. The 2 p.m. worship will feature Bishop Stafford J.N. Wicker, of 3rd Episcopal District, AME Church.
A fellowship meal will be served in between the morning service and afternoon service, beginning about 12:30 p.m.
Musicians, choir members and singers are welcome to come as they are planning a mass choir for both services. Rehearsals are being held at the church, June 12 and June 19, from 7 to 9 p.m.
