ASSISTANT MANAGER
OF LRT SYSTEMS
Pittsburgh Regional Transit is seeking an Assistant Manager of LRT Systems to oversee activities of supervisory and maintenance personnel associated with maintaining the Port Authority of Allegheny County d/b/a Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT)’s substations, overhead, signals and communications-electronic systems. Provides technical assistance/instructions as required, maintains employee records for supervisors, provides constructive feedback on performance to supervisors and initiates or assists in enforcing the PRT’s policies and procedures including the performance code. Oversees the Power and LRT Systems Department in the absence of the Manager of LRT Systems and Power. Develops and implements new maintenance procedures, oversees the assignment, scheduling, and implementation of corrective and preventive maintenance tasks for LRT Systems and Power Departments.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees activities of supervisory and maintenance personnel associated with maintaining the PRT’s substations, overhead, signals and communications-electronic systems. Provides technical assistance/instructions as required, maintains employee records for supervisors, provides constructive feedback on performance to supervisors and initiates or assists in enforcing the PRT’s policies and procedures including the performance code. Job requirements include:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s degree or two (2) years of college in electrical or electronics, engineering or related field from an accredited college or university. Related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in electronics, electronic engineering technology, electrical engineering, communications systems, or related field. No certifications or licenses required.
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows and Microsoft Word.
Preferred attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in related fields from an accredited college or university.
- Work experience in any of the following: railroad signaling, substations, overhead line work or high voltage.
- Supervisory experience in two or more LRT System disciplines (traction power, overhead, signals or communications).
- Project Management Experience.
