Alternate Histories and Golden Age Beer present Hotter Than July: A free celebration of Stevie Wonder, on July 12

Alternate Histories in Greenfield is teaming up with Golden Age Beer in Homestead for a tribute
to Stevie Wonder on Saturday, July 12. Hotter Than July: A Free Celebration of Stevie
Wonder will feature local vendors, Grow Pittsburgh, food, drinks, kids story time, and plenty of
music.

Says Matt Buchholz, co-organizer of the event, “2025 is not only Stevie’s 75th birthday, it’s also
the 45th anniversary of his seminal HOTTER THAN JULY album. So what better excuse to have a big neighborhood party?! This has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and working with my friends at Golden Age we’re finally making it happen.”

A timeline of events is as follows:
12 to 1pm: Wonder is for the Children
Artist and BOOM Concepts co-founder DS Kinsel hosts an all-ages kids story time
featuring books from Greenfield bookseller Stories Like Me

12 to 4pm: Vendor Market
Sellers include:
• Grow Pittsburgh, with potted plants from their Bird Lab collaboration
• Stories Like Me, a woman & queer-owned independent children’s bookstore
• Xpresshuns of Love Black owned locally-made candles
• Lotus and Fern, locally made body-care products from a Black owner
• Used vinyl records from Flipping Records & Tapes

1 to 4pm: DJ J.Malls plays music from and inspired by Stevie Wonder

4 to 7pm: DJ Buscrates continues the Stevie Wonder music

7 to 9pm: The Wonder All-Stars perform a jazz & soul tribute to Stevie Wonder,
featuring:
• Alton Merrell on keys
• Mike Hugo on guitar
• Lorenze Jefferson on bass
• James Johnson III on drums
• Erika Denae J on vocals

The Golden Age kitchen will be open all day with wood-fired pizza, burgers, wings, & snacks
alongside a full bar and pilsners & lagers from the in-house brewery. Weather permitting, the
event will take place in the outdoor beer garden located at 337 E. 8th Ave, Homestead, PA 15120.

Like all shows at Golden Age, this event is free.
