Out & About 9-4-13

Tiffany and the crew represented at Tim’s Bar in the Hill District for her birthday. This week I visited Kenny’s Place in Uptown Pittsburgh, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, Galaxy Lounge in Homewood and Denise and Earl’s in Homewood. My first stop was at Tim’s Bar in the Hill District where everyone came out to celebrate the birthday of Tiffany. The girls came out and got their party on, ate great food and had a good time. I have to also give a shout out to Blondie who was also celebrating her birthday.

‘Man of Steel’ sequel to film in metro Detroit

Zack Snyder's upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel, which will star Brit actor Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, is slated to film in metro Detroit and throughout Michigan, the Michigan Film Office announced Thursday.

Robinson pays tribute to Motown’s chief of charm

Powell was in charge of the artists’ personal development. And Robinson, a bard of the American romantic songbook and one of the chief architects of “the Motown sound” produced in Detroit from the late 1950s to the early ’70s, paid tribute to Powell last Monday night during an invitation-only event at the former Hitsville, U.S.A., studio in Detroit that now serves as the Motown Historical Museum.

The Grayson family hanging out with actor Glynn Turman at the 3rd Annual Peace on the Greens Scholarship Golf Outing held at Meadowlink Golf Course. This week I visited the Wheel House Restaurant at the Rivers Casino on the North Shore, Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center in Homewood, Lexus Club at the Consol Energy Center and Meadowlink Golf Course in Murrysville, PA. My first stop was at the Meadowlink Golf Course where the Jeron Xavier Grayson Foundation held their 3rd Annual Peace on the Greens Scholarship Golf Outing with actor Glynn Turman as the host for the event. People from all over came out to have fun, play golf, eat food, donate and honor those who received scholarships to college.

Wednesday 28 “I Have A Dream” Anniversary ­Celebration InterPlay Pittsburgh presents the “I Have A Dream” 50th Anniversary Celebration at 6:30 p.m. at The Alloy Studios, 5530 Penn Ave., East Liberty. There will be improvisational performances by Soyinka and local troupe members based on the themes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech. Chadwick Boseman to play James Brown in upcoming biopic

Chadwick Boseman (st.lousamerican.com)--Chadwick Boseman, who starred as baseball legend Jackie Robinson in “42,” has been announced as the star of a new, as yet, untitled film about James Brown from Universal and Imagine. The Hollywood Reporter says Tate Taylor, the director of “The Help” is at the helm and is also producing along with Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins. (At one point, Spike Lee was in kine to direct.)
