Not content to wait for the three-day Blues Fest this summer, Eugene Morgan, guitarist and front man for The Nightcrawlers, is holding his 19th Annual Blues For Food Mini-Festival to benefit clients of the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.

Joining him will be several stalwarts of pasts festivals; Miss Freddye & Blue Faze ,Todd Hinsberg Band, Waldo Young Band, Jill West & Blues Attack, ‘Burgh Women of the Blues, and the Jimmy Adler Blues Band.

As always, Blues For Food proceeds, including the $10 suggested donation at the door, and the additional non-perishable food and grocery items fans never forget to bring, benefit the food bank. Iris Valanti, spokesperson for the Food Bank said Morgan’s winter mini-festival is particularly welcome because people are dipping into their food budgets to pay higher heating bills.

The benefit takes place Sunday, Feb. 24, at Domenico’s Ristorante & Pizzeria, Piazza Plaza, Route 19, Cranberry Twp. From 1 – 8 p.m. Children are welcome and those under 12 pay no admission. In addition to the fine array of musicians, the event will include raffles, and CD and T-shirt giveaways to benefit the food bank.

For more information, contact Domenico’s at 724-776-6455, or visit www.pittsburghfoodbank.org.
