This time of year Merry Christmas and Happy New Year are phrases that bring joy and happiness to most people. But to some this is a dreadful time and season. Looking out for senior citizens, people in nursing homes and people going through depression is critical at this time of year, cautioned Kier Wells and Shawn Francis Coleman. Wells is the proprietor of Homecare Sustainability Solutions and Coleman operates PerspectVe LLC.
As a whole, Wells says it is important for the community to care for and to look out for one another. “We have lost the sense of community,” said Wells. A Homewood native, she says not just because of the holidays, but in general it is imperative to help those in need. “If the mail or newspaper has accumulated check and see why. It is important to look out for people and to remember our senior citizens, to make sure that they have food and even heat.”
Through Homecare Sustainability Solutions, Wells hopes to be the agency that can provide such services for her clients. “We will provide patient-centered preventative and primary care using innovative approaches of Telemedicine. The staff will be able to access the needs of the client and serve as the connecting point. If need be they can be the listening ear that is often needed.”
