RACE Exhibition
The Carnegie Museum of Natural History presents “RACE: Are We So Different?’ at 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This exhibition looks at the ways science and human-history has intersected to form our understanding and beliefs about race. It explores the history of the idea of race, the changing role of science in that history and so much more. The exhibit will be displayed through Oct. 27. Hip-Hop Panel/Performances
Blak Rapp Madusa in collaboration with 1Hood presents “Bring the Beat Back” from 6-10 p.m. at the Alloy Studio, 5530 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This is a benefit to raise funds and awareness for a document about hip-hop activism. The evening will include a panel discussion with Ezra as the moderator and panelists Vanessa German, Paradise Grey, Lee Davis, Thelonious Stretch, Mave Sami and Blak Rapp Madusa; performances by Idasa Tariq, Blak Rapp Madusa, Chris Mitchell, Realz the REbel, Leon Ford and many more; plus an auction featuring five paintings from Jamilah Lahijuddin.
