Flash delivers “kick heard round Pittsburgh” to Johnson in wrestling action

The super kick came out of nowhere. Three teams faced off against Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) Tag Team Champions Jack Massacre and “Big” Mike Malachi. Lou Martin and Del Douglas made up one team and former KSWA tag team champions Edric Everhart and Tyler Cross made up another. Then there was the seasoned team of Jay Flash and Tony Johnson, who many observers believed were at the right place and right time to be new tag team champions.
The four-team elimination match was both technical and hard-hitting. Momentum seemed to go right for “Ice Man” Johnson and Jay Flash, who was making his triumphant return to the ring after a gruesome ankle injury earlier in 2014. Johnson held up Cross and Flash prepared to flatten his frequent foe. Just then, Cross broke clear of the hold and Flash had plenty of time to stop. Instead, he blasted his long-time tag team partner and friend Johnson full in the jaw.
Some 550 KSWA fans were in shock. Flash dismissed his fans with a wave of his hand and left the ring. Johnson was easily pinned by Cross and the team once known as “Photo Opp” was gone. Massacre and Malachi held onto their titles in the end.
“First off I didn’t turn on Tony, I was proving how quickly the KSWA Krazies can turn on someone,” said Flash after the FanFest outing. “The Krazies don’t care about anybody but themselves.”
Flash returns to action this Saturday night as the KSWA kicks off its historic 2015 with “New Year’s Knockout.” Both Flash and Johnson are slated to appear in the penultimate “Battle Bowl VII,” at the Teamster’s Temple, 4701 Butler Street Lawrenceville.
Johnson could not be reached for comment regarding Flash’s kick, or the upcoming match.
Flash said that the fans didn’t properly welcome him back after being out of action since April 13, 2014. “To me, they were family,” he continued. “To them, I was disposable, for any other guy in tights.”
The South Beach Soldier promises his remaining fans that he will win Battle Bowl and an opportunity at the KSWA World Heavyweight Title, currently held by Shane Starr.
The KSWA is currently embarking on its 15th anniversary in Pittsburgh. Last month’s sold-out FanFest included appearances by the Honky Tonk Man and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. It was announced that night that legendary wrestling personality James J. Dillon will be returning to Pittsburgh for the Joe Abby Memorial Tournament on March 28 also at the Teamster Temple.
