Regelia M. Grant is an amazing, vibrant 100-year-old woman born March 4, 1915, in Augustus Springs, Va.
Her family moved to Pittsburgh in 1918 when she was 3 years old.
Grant and her sister, Louise Walker, who is 102 years old, are the only living siblings of seven children.
They resided and grew up in East Liberty. Grant was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system and graduated from Westinghouse High School.
Grant and Walker have lived through the Great Depression, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Iraq War, The Persian Gulf and the War in Afghanistan. Woodrow Wilson was President when Grant was born.
She and her sister lived under the reign of 17 presidents and have outlived 13 of the former presidents.
The greatest piece of history they never dreamed they would witness during their lifetime was to see the first African American become president––President Barack Obama. Below the Regelia Grant’s family and friends.
