ULISH CARTER

Growing up in the Hills of Tennessee I had the same experiences of Black folks throughout the South. We knew the Blues.
Working in cotton fields or whatever field from sun up to sun down, yet still not having enough money to make ends meet, so we ate rice and biscuits or nothing at all. We knew the Blues.
Having to sit on the back of the bus, take your food from the rear of the restaurant if they served you at all, and being told time after time that your highly intelligent child couldn’t be a lawyer, doctor, policemen or any other profession that paid any kind of high wages. We knew the Blues.
Spending all day looking for a job, going from door to door, business to business to be told no. We knew the Blues.
