A life steeped in community development that takes into account nearly every system that impacts an individual’s life inclusive of education, housing, social service, recreation, politics and health is how Michelle A. Jones describes her professional career. After years of helping people and yearning to be an entrepreneur with a willingness to try new things, Jones has decided to follow her passion.
Earlier this year she purchased the Greater Pittsburgh Black Business Directory. The publication had been published for the last 30 years by Renaissance Publications owned and operated by Constance (Connie) Portis.
“I had been searching for a while for the right business and opportunity,” said Jones. “When Connie announced last year that the 2014/15 issue was going to be her last that’s when I realized what my business should be. Knowing the energy and commitment Connie has put into this directory I did not want to see her energy and commitments go away.”
