- Of course Serena beat her sister Venus in the Wimbledon quarter finals. Serena’s about to become the first woman since 1991 (Steffi Graff) to win all four majors in one year. The truth has to be . . . Venus didn’t come to win. That’s what family do!
- A-Rod not making the All-Star team was an outright snub. You know it. I know it. Your Aunt Becky knows it. He did the crime, but he’s still doing the time.
- Your Pittsburgh Pirates find themselves in a great position as the All-Star game comes up. Pitching off the chart, A.J. Barnett makes the All-Star game for the first time in his16 year career (and justly so), hitting is starting to come, they’re making fewer base running mistakes, Alvarez is not that bad at first and we still have the potential to have the best outfield in Pittsburgh once we get Marte and Polanco on track. And for the record . . . I told ya so!
- Your Pittsburgh Steelers go to camp in two weeks. Let’s get this party started. Are – You – Ready – For – Some – Football?
- Flashback movie review for ya. If you missed The Boy Next Door starring Jennifer Lopez a few months ago . . . go get it. Boys . . . “J-Lo” is worth the price of admission . . . please trust me on this!!!
- For me, you, and all the other dudes that Barron B.B. Flenory kept trying to enlighten . . . this Bud’s for you. While we were busy trying to tell the world that Wilt or M.J. or LeBron or Magic or Oscar or Dr. J. or Bird is the greatest player of all time, B.B. was constantly telling me the truth. And let’s face two things. This Finish Line is about the truth and they call him B.B. for a reason (Ok for you non-Valley high school grads, the B.B. stands for basketball, duh!!)
Here, ladies and gentlemen is why Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is quite possibly the greatest of all time!!! *Six NBA titles, *Six MVP honors, *Led Power Memorial H.S. to 71 consecutive wins and three straight city titles – that team named #1 high school team of the century, * Owns New York City School’s scoring and rebound records, *Three straight NCAA titles with UCLA, *NCAA Tournament MVP all three years, *First NBA player to play 20 years, *All time scorer 38,387 – 17,440 rebounds – 3,189 blocked shots, *1,560 games played, *In 1985, at age 38, Lakers vs. Celtics – Jabbar was named MVP . . . c’mon man!!!!!
