As a former teacher, Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh President and CEO Esther Bush always looked at the organization’s charter school like a proud parent, highlighting its achievements in her annual State of Black Pittsburgh reports and lauding its growth over the years.
But the time comes when children leave home and make their own way in the world—and so it is with the, now independent, Urban Academy of Greater Pittsburgh Charter School.
In a recent press release, Urban League Board Chair Judge Dwayne Woodruff echoed those sentiments.
