Black Love Day
    FEB. 22—The Black Student Union of Duquesne University will host Black Love Day at 5 p.m. at the Duquesne University Union, Africa Room, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. African American Scientists
    FEB. 23—The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host “STEM: African American Scientists” from 6-7 p.m. at the Homewood branch, 7101 Hamilton Ave., Homewood. Guests will be offered a sensory tour of famous inventions by African American scientists. For more information, call 412-731-3080.
BHM Celebration Reception/Merit Award
    FEB. 25—Talk Magazine will host its Black History Month Celebration Reception & Merit Award at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center, 112 Washington Place, Uptown. The LJS Group will honor and recognize members of the community who continue their commitment to improving Civil Rights with the Byrd R. Brown/K. Leroy Irvis Civil Rights Award. Black History Month Celebration
FEB. 26—The Rachel Randall Education Department of Pentecostal Temple COGIC, 6300 East Liberty Blvd., East Liberty, will host its annual Black History Month Celebration at 6 p.m. The Theme will be “Celebration of the Family.” During the weekend-long event, there will be a Family Movie Night with a showing of “War Room,” followed by an evening that will focus on celebrating families on Feb. 28. There will also be a special presentation to honor those couples that have been married more than 50 years. For more information, call 412-361-7000.
Black History/Legacy Luncheon
    FEB. 27—Park Place AME Church, 215 E. Tenth Ave., Homestead, will host its 11th Annual Black History and Legacy Luncheon at 11 a.m. at the Comfort Inn Conference Center, 699 Rodi Rd., Penn Hills. The theme is “An Extraordinary History and Incredible Future.” This event is to celebrate the African American heritage and the recognize their contributions to the nation and world. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Eric Brown and Darieth Chisolm will serve as the mistress of ceremonies. Reservations are required. Black History Celebration
    FEB. 28—Jerusalem Baptist Church, 123 Steuben St., West End, will host its Black History Celebration at 11 a.m. The event will include a reception, program and soul food fellowship. African attire is optional. For more information, call 412-921-0822.
